I personally dont let anyone in my pens mainly because I have quite a few wild breeds and expensive breeds that I cant afford to replace if I lose them for something simple as that. I also dont buy from anyone that isnt certified just for the sake I know some of the known issues wont be present. I quarantine any bird that come from somewhere else also. Julie has a leggit reason for what she does and not everyone has those reasons so wether you choose to be NPIP or not or as bio protective, is each persons perrogative and what suits there needs smile.png That said I believe all sellers should be certified and the sellers and breeders that are not should be and no one should actually purchase from one that doesnt have the respect to test their flocks. I am not speaking of backyard hobbiest I am speaking 100% on breeders. The laws state you are supposed to be and I personally feel if you are ducking the testing theres probably a reason.

Welcome to the newbies
Congrats on the hatch missy told you you were gonna love that bator lol.png
Hope everyone else is fine and ready for more storms roll.png
Still lookin for whiskeybay if anybody runs across her.

The part in bold I agree with so much! It's kinda like "Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD!!" Why would you risk everything just cause your lazy?? Cause if someone has that much business as Jeff mentioned then even in the states that charge for it you can afford to have it done. But one day when it comes back to bite someone on the butt and they get fined out the wazoo...... Well it'll be interesting then!!

Thanks Mike!! Yes you were so right!! Guess I'll be making you some cookies!! What's your fav??? wink.png

Miss, how many eggs do you have in your incubator? 500? lau.gif That joker is big enough to incubate eggs for the whole neighborhood. lau.gif

I think right now about 60 or so.. I have 24 more Nargansett eggs coming (don't ask they were lagniappe) plus 17 Easter Eggers. (don't ask either they were lagniappe too!) and if they keep laying the way they have I should have at least 4 dozen saved up by next Wednesday so they will hatch right before the show!! barnie.gif I'll have babies everywhere's...

Great hubby, 2 kids, 3 furry babies, lots of chickens!!

Yes, that's what this guy told me last week. He said chicken eggs are easier. He said that he will give me some Cuckoo Maran eggs to practice with. I don't think my chicken eggs are too fertile because I only have about 4 roosters and they have to cover 80 hens and I don't see them working any overtime, if you know what I mean. hmm.png So, it would useless to practice with my own eggs. So when I get the Cuckoo Maran eggs, I'll try again. I will get a humidity gauge this time to make sure the humidity is ok. I will turn the incubator back on a few days before I'm scheduled to get the eggs from him.

I guess I won't give up too soon. hmm.png
