I read somewhere on BYC where someone said that they picked their chicken eggs 3 times a day. Someone like that must not have a full time job and most likely is a stay at home mom and that is great but for me, it will never happen.
I think all of us probably consider our animals our "part time job". Well, at least I do. My part time homesteading job is M - F from 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM & 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Weekend hours vary. hmm.png

Some of us are just OLD!old.gif

I brought 8 chickens, Roosters and Hens so the kids could see the different between the boys and the girls. It turned out great and the kids really liked seeing and petting all the animals we had there.

Anyway, there was a guy there with two of these goats that my wife is always talking about. So I thought that if I could find two or three does I would surprise her with them. She has been talking about getting a couple goats now for a while and I figured as small as these guys were....what the heck! And NO! I'm not milking no goats!!! lol!!!

Chris

Oh, you definitely will end up milking the goats...HAHA! I will come watch and laugh!

It's not brand new but it was not $700.00 either. I picked it up for 250.00 today from someone getting out of the hobby. I had my eye on it now for a couple weeks but after doing so well the other day at the sale, I decided to go ahead and get it.

Chris

Sweet deal! Now you can really get to hatching... Gracie, I definitely want to see the fridge-r-bator!

Oh boy, here we go! Chris will be building one of those 40ftx300ft chicken houses now to hold all he's gonna hatch in that huge-mongous 'bator. He'll set ever egg those gals lay from now till the cows come home, or till he hatches himself away from the table. LOL

Jeff

There's a whole world of differences between propagators and breeders. My goal is to propagate breeders towards the Standard of Perfection.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, you can make a purse out of it, but it won't be silk. LOL

Maybe in about another 30-40 years I'll get this "being an expert" thing figured out by then. LOL
