First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

Thanks I'll check it out. With the Light Brahmas I got this weekend I am really looking for some Buff Laced to round out the color scheme.... lol... chicken math again!

Does anyone in the san diego or escondido area have any older LF barred cochin (or bbs frizzle) pullets at laying age or close? (I have a big beautiful blue barred cochin roo who needs more company) I'd like to buy some or trade, I have a bunch of birds I'm trying to sell. I'm trying to downsize and focus on marans and cochins but I only have three cochins. Let me know if you have any thanks

Craigs List is one and start calling round feed stores to see who takes birds to resell. Also list them on BYC.
The only feed store that I know of that takes in chickens is Wes's Pet & Feed in El monte.
