I've never heard of East County Zoo, but I'd love to hear more.
No help on the breeds... but curious how many you have?
Northern California has a lot more breeders because their area is more conducive to chickeneering. However, the Inland Empire like Riverside, Norco, etc. have a lot of poultry breeders. Dare2Dream in Lompoc have several breeds available and deliver to the Los Angeles area on a posted schedule on their website but don't know if Lavender Orps are on their list of available breeds - I think D2D only deals in standard APA approved breeds and Easter Eggers. You might check Facebook too.
I have experience with Orps, Wyandottes & Barnevelders and like each of them for different reasons.
The BLR Wyandottes are my favorite for personality and appearance, not sure if you are getting solid Blue Wyandottes or Blue Laced Red. Overall I would say the parent stock is the first consideration as to type and personality, also overall health.
I have admired some beautiful New Hamphsires at shows, but don't have them in my flocks.
Adding - I have had them in mixed flocks which include your breeds, as have other poultry people.
Very versatile !
