For those of you wondering if you can dye brown eggs.....

I didn't take a pic but, ours were nice and dark. Much better than any white egg we ever did before we had chickens. The green ones color good too.
 
I have black food coloring. maybe if I dyed a brown egg with black food coloring it would be a dark brown and I could tell myself it's really chocolate.....naah.

Yeah, I made an emergency run to the store last night for white eggs b/c I wasn't sure about the brown ones.  Plus, mine are fresh and hard to peel when you hard boil them.  I guess the older the eggs are, the easier they are to peel.  I have also heard you can add vinegar to the boiling water to make them easier to peel (can't remember the amount...think I heard it on Martha Stewart).  Anywho...beautiful eggs.  We dyed some last night and my daughters are really too little to appreciate it, in fact my 7 mo. old was in bed.  My 23 month old's hands are totally green (that will look nice for church tomorrow) but she did have fun.  Nice job, coffee!

If you cool them fast they peel easier. Even fresh ones ( after you takee tnem off the heat run under cold water until cool to the touch and stick in the fridge. Works every time. )
