Moonpie! Excellent sleuthing- I never would have thought of that. 

Can you post a photo of the worms?  Maybe one of us can ID the species for you.

I have some new chicks only a wk old and I have found roundworms. Found them on a plate that I gave them some cornbread on. It was a very long worm too. I never dreamed that a baby chick would have worms. What should I do ?
