How to get rid of "round-em up" or "hover-craft" flies

Yes I have these they hang out in the carport just hovering flying in groups. I have been using the electronic flyswatter from harbor freight. works good and kinda fun killing them when they pop. killed about 25-30 of them in 15min. works best when you come from bellow them. works good to kill spiders too. once they climb on I push the button and pop. Beats squishing them. I call them Hillary flies!

I have them also in my garage what a pain in the you know where. I use a salt gun its made for flying pest orinsects

i don't know what they are officially named, but these are smaller than house flies, and they hover in a group in the air, going in somewhat erratic circles. They hardly ever land.

We started with just a few on our back porch and near one of our chicken pens. Now we have hoards. They're getting in the house and flying in circles in front of our television. No fun trying to watch your favorite show at night with a swarm of flies in the way.

Any idea how to get rid of them without poisoning my family and pets?

I found this page and it may help. I don't know why people feel the need to comment if they don't have anything helpful to offer.

They are called lesser house flies or Fannia canicularis. They thrive and are attracted by access to animal excrement and decomposing plant matter so you'll want to keep those things in check around the yard/home. However, being a rural country dweller myself I know all too well that even the best of cleanliness won't keep these annoying pests from loitering in any available open air space. Im working to find a solution as aerosol fly sprays seem to offer little help and short lived control.
so far I know that fans can help and I'm experimenting with options to cause motion disruptions to break the void in areas where they choose to hover. If I can't effectively get rid of them maybe I can at least control where they choose to hover around. ???
