How do you keep wasps out of your (open) sheds?

I just go around with the wasp spray and hit them all and what ever wasps I see too. I did my pest control yesterday. Ants, mice and wasps. I just wish I could get rid of the wood bees. They don't fall for the bumble bee traps. They love to harrass us when we are trying to get into the house and the dogs when they try to sleep on the porch.

emvickrey, you mean carpenter bees? I had a lot of them last year, and (regretfully) sprayed the snot out of them because they were doing damage to my house and the paint didn't seem to keep them out. It didn't phase them at all.

But this year the odd thing is that I have a lot of dead carpenter bees lying around. I can only guess that they got into last year's holes and that somehow the poison is getting them now. If not, there's a disease going about.

They actually don't freak me out like wasps do because they aren't all about hitting you with that stinger first shot :p They're just big and noisy... and sometimes destructive

If you hang a no-pest strip containing dichlorovos, they will not nest. Made by Black Flag and Vapona and sold under various generic brands at hardware stores- plastic rectangles containing a waxy strip and the pesticide...big problem here, too, no wasps nesting now...

Hi,
I just discovered a VERY LARGE hornest nest on the outside back corner of my one chicken coops. The chickens can't get right up to it but they have been hanging out about 10 feet from the nest. I would like to spray or do something to get rid of it. Can someone please tell me a safe (for us and chicks) way to do this?
Kathy
