Finally got around to taking some pictures of my pens! I encorparated ideas from different ideas i have seen on here and a few of my own as well!! Enjoy!!
The two cages with one more slot for another cage when i feel like building another one!!
The waterers are 2 1/2" pvc pipe with a cap on one end and an elbow on the other. I cut one end of the elbow down to almost flush for the bottle to sit in, and i cut a 16" slot in the pvc that is 1 1/2" wide for the quail to drink out of. The waterers are zip tied to the cage.
The feeders are made from the same concept, only both ends are capped.
The wire in the areas where the quail eat/drink are actually closet organizer wire racks that i cut down, i had some old ones laying around the yard so i used them. To prevent the "head bonking" that everyone talks about i used shade cloth for the tops of the cages and secured them with 1" boards, its worked like a charm and lets the heat out on those hot days!! I also took some old closet sliding doors, cut them down, and they are the poop trays that slide under the pens on plywood cleats.
Take care everyone!!...............Jason
