#1 has way too much tail and look closely and you will see the wings have light faded feathers in the wing, this is very hard to breed out and  judge will deduct for this.

Don,

We are seldom as great in the eye of others as we are in our own mind.. Look at the photo section at the album and see pictures of my setup. Plan on adding a few pictures shortly.

So very cute.  I can't wait for mine to start laying.

1 quarter horse, 1 tuxedo cat, 1 siberian hamsters, 3 dogs, 1 hermit crab, 7 freshwater fish, 5 Brahma chickens, 2 showgirl chickens, 9 silkies, 7production chickens, 12 to be determined bantam chicks, 2 pekin ducks and 1 swedish duck....I should hatch a partridge for the pear tree to round it off.

There were so many in the brooder, when we split the order we just went through going, "I want that one" until we were about even. I ended up with 15 hens. Maybe Loo was the wild card.  Did you only order the Brahma's? Are yours laying yet? I've got one {a Minorca as far as we can tell} laying. One of my RIR's is getting ready too.

I ordered the full 25 with the intention of keeping them all.  They gave me 27 birds.  I got from them 11 brahmas, 11 easter eggers, 4 black australorps, 1 brahma rooster and 1 blue andalusian rooster (re-homed now).  So far I really like the brahma rooster (the blue andalusian was not a good fit for me, but perfect for someone else, he was my free one anyway).  The brahmas are my absolute favorite; I love their beauty (large size, temperament, feathered feet).  It makes me want to get some more brahmas and try some other fun colors like the silver laced ones.  The brahmas are not really laying yet though.  I saw one hen lay one one day.  I'm assuming they are just maturing slower and once they do, we'll see how much they lay.  They should be a nice, big egg I would think.  I am very impressed with my easter eggers because all of them are laying, the colors are varied and great, and they are getting larger and larger, some jumbo.  They started laying at 18 weeks!  The australorps are ok, but I would rather get more easter eggers instead next time.

Chickens include 1 Light Brahma rooster, 10 Brahma hens, 11 EE hens, 4 Black Australorp hens, and currently hatching out brahma X EE chicks.  I also enjoy sheep, a great dane, barn cats, beehives, and organic gardening.

Hoo boy.  My two lights just started laying!  I was not expecting them this early (only 21 weeks old).  The eggs are really tiny.  I merged my two dark brahma's into this group - they're about 18 months old.  The two old girls are showing the young ones where to lay, so that's nice.  The only hitch has been the cockerel, Blackberry.  He is pinning down the darks and just snatching at their heads like crazy.  I'm a little worried that he might take an eye out or something.  Is he just establishing himself?  This behavior should chill soon, right?

Thanks to all of you who gave feed back. I can see all of the stuff that was pointed out. The other thing is that #1 has more black in the saddle and neck feathering but I didn't know if that was desirable or not.
