Brahma Thread - Page 420

Ya, me too. I need to post some pics of mine. I'm usually on this site from my phone and I can't get the pics to post from here. I think you'll enjoy my wife's Cochin rooster. She has been playing around with the colors and came up with a real pretty rooster. I'll try to hop on the computer when I have time.

I can never have too many chickens. The large breeds are my favorite and I have a weakness for Brahmas.

I can verify that when I get my American Brahma Club newsletter there is in fact a Tim Lindenborn listed among the officers. Now wether the poster Tim63 is in fact the same person I can not verify, having never met either in person.  In fact I secretly suspect this poster may actually be someones 12 year old daughter who is getting online and pulling an elaborate hoax on all of us.

Now I can only speak for myself, but about the only breed related threads I post on are here are, Brahma threads, and sometimes Cornish related threads, I would have no bussiness pretending I knew enough about most breeds to offer anything constructive on them.

Now I can say, I can't remember this Tim63 who ever he/she may actually be, ever posting any bogus information on here.  If you go far enough back in this thread there are a couple discussions that Tim may in fact be the finest example of grumpy old fart in captivity today, he did take exception to the old part.

So in closing, ladies and genlemen of the jury, I ask you to look past the sometimes gruff, to the point style, of Tim here, lighten up and take advantage of his willingness to promote and educate you about the majestic Brahma. And let me say, I put a lot more stock in his opinion/advise than just about anybody on this thread.

Well, I have met Tim in person and this grumpy old poultry curmudgeon act is a sham.  He is actually friendly and informative, but gets tired (as do I) of the blind leading the blind.

He could limit himself to the actual Brahma forum thread on another site, but chooses to attempt to educate those willing to be educated here.

I, myself, have some darn nice bantam Lights from Tim, and thank him for them.

Thanks Gary, and right back at you. My wife would agree with the grumpy part, and some may agree with the old part. I however, consider 48 to be the proverbial "spring chicken" !

There are some here who appreciate what I post....and others get their feelings hurt?? I have no control over that. I am in fact, just trying to promote the breed I love.

Yea that is all fine and good and maybe he gives sound advice but he need not be so cocky as to shoot someone in the face because they offered an opinion. I  would NEVER post towards someone in that manner. I really dont care what he is a member of it doesnt give him the right to think he is better than anyone. Everyone should be respected and I never stated I knew everything nor was I pretending to know everything. I simply made a statement and suggested it be look at and as a result I get, oh dont listen to her she didnt even know if she had a bantam or standard... Fine be gruff, old fashioned, whatever you want to,, but leave the cocky " I'm a vp of whateversville" at the door.

Tim, remember I always said you were too tough. Thats the reason I asked for you to be Moderator on the brahma site.

Don,

We are seldom as great in the eye of others as we are in our own mind.. Look at the photo section at the album and see pictures of my setup. Plan on adding a few pictures shortly.

Hey Don. I don't know if I would take credit for that!big_smile.png Maybe I should stay over there. Sometimes it feels like I'm dealing with overly sensitive, hormonal, teen-aged girls here.

Maidenwolfx80, I'm sorry I said I was VP of the club. I guess you prefer opinions to fact. I'll keep my opinions to myself. BTW your ability to read minds is not too good either. I don't think i'm better than anyone.

Maybe you should just not be rude and things would be ok. And th comment of teenaged girls is funny and because you are acting like one. All I said is I didnt like that you were being rude and you have turned it into a highschool who's who. My teeneaged son doesnt play "look at me" as much as you do. I prefer fact over opinion but when you knock someone down who clearly was stating an observation is kind of silly to , did I hurt your "expert" feelings when I said it looked kind of cochin? I never tried to read a mind, that is just how you have presented yourself to me. I know alot of "old farts" and usually the more educated the man the better he knows how to deal with a situation when someone is wrong about something. When you educate someone and you want them to learn why do it in a rude manner? I am sure you know alot of breeding and maybe showing(?) I on the other hand dont breed for anyone but myself, friends and family, and I dont show. I raise mine for food, eggs and pets so all my knowledge is what I have learned from my grandparents, towns people and different hatcheries I worked for. Everyone has knowledge in different areas that is what this site is for, we learn from one another, not make one another feel like idiots...

Okay, in an effort to get us back into safe waters, here is one of my project Brahmas.  I have been getting a few solid blue girls, but only this one blue guy.  At least he started out blue.  Now he is looking altogether unlike anything I have ever seen!  The pictures do not do him justice.  He is mostly blue with this light tan coming out and now almost chocolate on his back.  He is from a black Brahma hen and a lemon pyle roo.
