Rhode Island Red age of laying

When is my Rhode Island red chickens going to lay eggs they are 5 months or 19 weeks, I put some golf balls in the nesting box, and they are scratching the ground and turning the wood chips into little nest which is what it looks like

My RIR's are 15 weeks old and I just came across two eggs in the coop when out there today! I wasn't expecting them to start laying for another few weeks at least and don't even have nesting boxes installed yet :/ the eggs were laid on top of the food bin.
This seems unusually early... Something I should be concerned about? I cracked them open and they looked normal; both had small double yolks which I read wasn't unusual for new layers? Guess I'll get that nesting box unit installed this weekend.

we bought 30 RIR's in Feb this year and none of them seem mean at all. I am going to free range mine but they just don't want to leave the chicken coop. I have a sliding door I open every morning but none of them have used it. Tried to put some through it they can't get back in the coop fast enough. I will let them take their time I must have created a 5 star coop :).

I have a small area enclosed to teach them to go back in at dark and once they learn I will create an opening in the fence for them to get back in. It has an electric wire at the top because the cows and horse decided to see what it was and laid it down so the reason for the electric wire.

Like the forum will try to be an active member. This is my 1st time chicken farming. Hopefully the chickens will help reduce the fly population once they get out and about I have 10 acres they can have fun being a chicken.

My RIR bantam laid her first egg today, at 30 weeks and 6 days. She has been squatting the past 2 weeks and also spreading her wings at the same time the last few days. Photo below of the clever lady 'Buffy' and also her egg. We also have 2 Australorp bantams at 23 weeks but they are not showing any squatting signs as yet. Patience!
