Hello everyone, I am a newby and I am finding this site priceless! I have chatted abit and have found people to be very helpful and friendley. There has not been a single question that I have searched on the forum that I havn't found answer for.... except for this... Does anyone have Amber Link chickens? Can you tell me about their disposition and laying habits? I would also love to see a pic if you have one.

great layers when fed with seeds that contain protein or with meat (warms, insects), you can let them rest by feeding them with corn when you don't need eggs, great pets

The ISA Brown is a hybrid Red Sex-Link. Like the Novogen, this variety originated in France, from a cross between Rhode Island Red and Leghorn genetics. This bird will lay a large to extra-large dark brown egg. Average production to 76 weeks of lay is approximately 320 eggs. This variety is commonly referred to under other names as well, such as the Golden Comet, Red Star, or simply a Red Sex-Link. Most people are most familiar with this variety of Red Sex-Link, due to its relatively lengthy history and reputation. Sold as color sexed pullets only.

Derived from the ISA Brown line, as a reverse cross, the AmberLink is a high production Delaware male crossed with a high production Rhode Island Red female, and will make a great addition to your flock. This bird feathers out as a white bird with a touch of reddish brown feathers around its neck and back.

Egg production is good, at 270-290 eggs per year, and egg color is brown.

Like the Novogen or ISA Brown, these birds are known for being incredibly docile, as well as good foragers. If you are looking to add a splash of amber to your flock, or to try something new, give our AmberLink a try!
