List of general "sick bird" care guidelines? (update: hen died)

Is it possible that we could have killed her with too much of the electrolytes in the mix? The instructions are for tens of thousands of animals or at the least, several gallons of water. We put an 1/8 teaspoon into a quart jar and gave her 50 cc in total yesterday.

Since I'm not a mathematician, I was confused trying to break down the package directions into a usable form for a very small amount suitable for one or two chickens. A good friend of mine is a licensed animal rehabber in S. IL. Her advice was "make it look like Mountain Dew". Simple enough! THAT I can manage!

If you have the DURVET (the package which advises the full package for 110 gallons of water) , a while back this was discussed on the other board and WES called Durvet and this is their reply to him (so the correct dosage):

"...Wesley,
If you have the 4 oz. packet of Vitamins and Electrolytes then you would mix 1/2 teaspoon into 1 gallon of water.

If you have the 8 oz. packet of Vitamins and Electrolytes then you would mix 3/4 teaspoon into 1 gallon of water.
