Can I write on an egg with permanent marker?

I use black eyeliner and it is perfect because it is designed to be non toxic on your skin so it is gentle to eggs but only comes up with makeup remover.

I also agree. I just started using a fine point red sharpie. Ive put some eggs under a broody hen, and the pencil rubs off so I marked them with a sharpie. I also put some goose eggs under a broody goose and also marked those with a permanent marker. Eggs that I will be selling are marked in pencil.
Why don't you use a permanent marker on eggs you sell for food?

Thank you so much! I love when I can find a very informative and direct answer to a question and BYC just hit that one outta the park!! Thank again "dancingbear" :yesss:

I have several dozen that were marked with permanent marker. Now I want to get the marks off the eggs. Is there a way to do that safely. I don't think I can sell the ones if they are marked. I'm new at this so any help would greatly be appreciated.
