How does one keep a duck pond clean???

We haven;t built it yet as they as just 8 dayas old, but when we do, how do we keep it clean?

Don't put any ducks in it!  lau  gig  lau  gig

5 Eastern Turkeys and 5 sexlink pullets, 1 trio Wheaten Marans bator, 1 pair BCM, 1 black Marans pullet, 10 Welsummers and 4 black Ameraucans, 2 Very nice Cayugas and quail in the bator again!!

Deb, ducks are messy and as long as their water is fresh and not old, they will be fine in some dirty water.

2 Words..POOP SOUP!!! barnie

I have several kiddy pools and dump and refill twice daily..
and still we have poop soup

7 quacking ducks, 5 spazzy quail, 3 lazy cats, 2 grown sons, 1 goofy husband... and no partridge, but I have a pear tree!

Well, someone beat me to it!!!

Nancy-Dewlap toulouse in buff & grey, sebbies, runners (some crested), welsh harlequins & Ernie the muscovy. Chix-BO, Jersey Giants, cochins, BC Marans, turkey poults, button quail,  goats, horse, St. Bernards, cat & a bewildered DH!

On the bright side, the "soup" makes some great organic fert. so run a hose to the garden and water away.

Should not be taken seriously in large doses, use as directed.

mine don't like clean water. when its clean, they climb in, rip up some grass, put it in the water and repeat. rarely eat the grass, i guess they just like dirty water!
