Our project pens:
bantams;Sizzles, Fancy Naked necks"frizzeld showgirls" LG; Olive eggers, delaware,

our npip # is in sig. line

my hubby is wanting Dorkings? Anybody know where I can possible find some? of course we are wanting to stay with npip but like any thing you always keep critters separated from each other for min. of 30 days just good practice we did it when we raised hogs, goats, cattle it just makes good sense to do that. You never know what the "newbie" might be carrying in with em. Just safer all the way around.

wink Gotcha covered... wink  Maybe we can work out a trade... hmmmmmm.

Great idea! My farm is Hens and Friends, in Western North Carolina.

I am NPIP #55-1046

I raise  a few varieties of bantam cochins and a few colors of d'uccles .

I also raise standard EE's and Buff Orpingtons. I sometimes have hatching eggs and chicks for sale

as well as some adult birds at times.

Cochin Bantams~ Birchen, White Frizzle, Partridge, Calico, Blue (BBS), Black Mottled

d'uccles~ Mille Fleur, Black and White Mottled, White

Partridge Silkies, and Partridge Showgirls

My main focus has been on my "Baby Doll" cochin bantam project, which is going into the 4th year at this time.

The "Baby Doll" cochins are Miniature Cochins and I am developing this breed in several colors with the help of a dear friend here in North Carolina. We hope to have several color variations in the coming years. Right now we are only offering Birchen "Baby Dolls" in very limited numbers.

You are welcome to visit my website at:  http://www.hensandfriends.webs.com/

to find out more about my farm.

PM me anytime!

I apologize, newbie here, this thread is difficult to follow so I thought I'd just ask my question rather than continue to look for the answer embedded in a post.

I'm looking for a NPIP breeder, or someone of like minded thinking, to start my small backyard flock but can't seem to find anyone in my area. (NW burbs of Chicago) I am willing to travel some for the right birds. We will not be showing so show quality is not important. We are interested in decent layers that are friendly, docile, quiet, do well confined and free range, and are cold hardy. My children would like a couple silkies as well.

Is anyone here or does anyone here know of someone within a couple of hours of Chicagoland? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Feel free to PM.

TIA

p.s.

Is there a better place to post this?

eta: I'd like to pick up, if possible.
