HIGH SPRINGS FLORIDA!!!

I lived in high springs until 6 months ago. I lived just outside the city limits on 236 north of the school. I am also the leader of the alachua county 4h poultry club in high springs. I believe the ordinance is 5 hens in city limits, no roosters. As long as you're not in an HOA. You can always call or go by city hall and ask to know for sure. Out of city limits is 25 birds per acre, hens and roosters allowed.

What about ducks? We currently have4 hens 2 [possibly 3] rosters who are beautiful! And 5 Pekin ducks who are fairly loud. The place I'd like to move to has cows next to the property/neighborhood so like I could touch them if I wanted to

Sounds like you are in an AG setting. Roosters may not be a problem where you are. If you can have hens I doubt there would be a problem with ducks. They are quieter than chickens lol. But I do recommend checking with city hall to verify. They are super nice in there.

We have called city hall twice in one day and left voice-mail no answer or return call. Is there anywhere else I can look? Or a # I can call?

The City Hall is closed today. If you're having trouble reaching them, I can pass by next week when they're open and relay their message here on the forum. I'll be asking about the area behind the ball park on 441. By behind, do you mean the North side of 441?

If there are cows nearby, I bet you can have all those chickens and ducks. I would recommend getting turkeys as well. They're a little on the expensive side (like 12.50 per chick), but they're quiet and very nice to all the other residents (at least so far.)

The neighborhood is called sharden acres first edition or at least that's what the MLS says for the home. It's off of railroad Ave. That runs from 202nd street through highsprings along side 441. It's a dirt road. Nice area :] definitely lmk if you find anything before we do thank you!

This is a very old thread... but, I just wanted to check in to see if anyone knew the current ordinance in High Springs, Florida
