I put construction sand in my run and coop and every few days I shift through the sand and pick up the poop - I have a dust pan that I put a lot of holes in it and clean the coop floor with it - similar to how you would clean a cat litter box - for the run I took a large grain shovel and put a lot of holes in it and sift the sand to remove the poop - basically I'm only removing the poop and not the sand - works great - at first I was think of making up some kind of screen with hardware cloth to sift the sand but then though about putting holes in the dust pan and shovel -
