is she ok? I'm worried!

I would give her a human calcium pill every other day for a week.

I found the same problem this morning. I went get my eggs and feed them. I found 5 eggs 2 off them were soft and not developed i gove tjem grain and Crack corn am I doing something wrong?

So I have 4 hens that hatched on April 15 - my red start already payed her 1st very small egg yesterday - this am there was another egg in a different spot that was broken and the shell was as thin as paper - we had a horrible thunderstorm last night - but I'm just worried since these are my 1st chickens and they are still young

Thanks for the info on feeding them back their own shells. I had heard of it before but thought it might make them want to eat their eggs. I will grind them and microwave them first. Thanks

I looked this up, because my son just brought in a soft shelled egg. 0.0
I figured it was within the range of random normal, since I know we are feeding them well.

I told my son that it could be because the coop door blew shut two evenings ago, and I found the ladies nestled outside. We usually gather at bed time, and there were only two eggs from the three hens, so I think someone didn't get to lay her egg that day. Poor thing! It sounds plausible, right?
