I have two hens that are from the same flock. They've grown up together since one day old and suddenly won't stop going at each other! They're literally ripping each other's feathers out which worries me during the cold winter months... any ideas why they'd do this when they've never had issues before???

Which hen gets along beter with the whole flock? If one does beter then the other you simply seperate the other in a nother pen where they can fight through the wire but not hurt each other. Then after a week or more join them it will be better then before. Or you could just let them figure it out... There chickens!

I have had hens who just did not get along and still have two who one always will make threat sounds, and talk strash to,but never will throw a peck.
