I'm going to order a few ducklings from ideal tonight and i was thinking about getting a few blue swedish, had anyone had any that are friendly or had any problems with them?

Just picked up a Swedish and a Cayuga. The Cayuga is a bit skittish, but the Swedish is pretty calm, and does not freak when I pick him up. It is all in how you will raise them though.

I have Blue Swedish ducks and I love them, but they arent the most friendly ducks I've ever had. They will follow me around, but wont let me get too close to them unless its feeding time.

I have Blue Swedish and Pekins. I am rehoming the Pekins and keeping the Blue Swedish. They are calm and the girls lay beautiful blue eggs everyday. We didn't raise them, so they are a little skittish, but I would imagine they'd be more friendly if we had raised them from ducklings. I have some of their eggs in the incubator now, I can't wait to see their babies!

my very first duck was a blue swedish drake. He was the SWEETEST little bot ive ever had.we used to "launch the skittles" which included going to the edge of our property and tossing him into the air, racing him back home. he would always win but he would settle downand wait next to he fence to be let in.

I'm getting 2 pullets and put in the order at Ideal today, Are they less friendly than the drakes or does it just depend on how they are raised?

I think it's how you raise them. But females, will be less friendly when they are setting, so if you plan on them hatching their own eggs don't be surprised.

good luck I like Ideal you should get some nice birds. I will expect pics when they come
