Darn it, you made me homesick.  I grew up in Southeast, and there is nowhere prettier in the world.  I think we will go back next year to see the family.  I grew up in Haines, and lived in Juneau.

So which part of ALASKA are you coming to see .
Southeast or the  interior ?

You made me homesick. I truly miss the beauty of SE Alaska. It's a place like no other.

Imp-Haven't been back in about 15 years-think a trip's in order.

my sister-in-law lives in Palmer and loves it! She was born and raised in NC and she and her DH just decided to up and move to Wasilla a couple years ago...my DH is trying to get a firefighting job up there now!!!

Mama to 2 hoodlums, 1 Great Dane Tang-a-Rang, 1 crazy alley cat Gus, Yum-Yum the ninja cat, 17 chickens. Wife to a Firefighter/Paramedic

He is looking for a DOD job or wildland or city? Wildland is going to be picking up being that its summer and there are a few DOD spots open for the different bases as we always have hard time filling them due to people not understanding Alaska

He had tried out for a job in Anchorage, but missed out cause he didn't score high enough on the written test.  A DoD job would be great....we're not planning on moving for a couple years or so...we've got to fix up the house we're living in right now to sell it. 90 years and still going strong...
