Do I have to do that to just him, or treat all my chickens now? Does this spread easily? He seems to be the only one with this problem...
 
Yes, what everyone above said.
...And then, clean the coop! If your others don't have the problem yet, just keep an eye on them, and in the meantime, replace all the bedding where they sleep.

It looks like one of my girls has scaly mites! But she's too timid for me to catch her everyday and put Vaseline on.... What else can I do??

You can put a pan of vegetable oil or mineral oil in front of the coop door so they all step into it with both feet before going in the coop - this will make a mess, but hey!

They must be treated for 2 weeks to smother the mites, due to the life cycle of the mites. The best time to catch chickens to treat them for mites is when they are still on the roost.
