Here's a locking one I found on YouTube. Looks nice. What do y'all think?

That's pretty slick...and simple! But...... it does open far enough for a small coon to squeeze thru. Here's a locking one I found on YouTube. Looks nice. What do y'all think?
Here is my pop door. I use an cord tied to an eye bolt on the door, then ran the cord through another eye bolt on a rafter to open and close from outside the run. There is a loop knot in the cord that gets wrapped around a third eye bolt on the outside of the run to hold the door open. It works well, though I have been planning to replace the existing hinges with spring hinges too, hopefully soon.
. We have decided on a up/down sliding door in a track, and are looking for pop door design and lock design ideas.
Thanks!!

I do not have a video nor have I actually made this locking device but If I were to build a locking mechanism I would employ permanent magnets to draw the locking bolts into position when the door came to rest.

I know this is an old post but this is the same pop door set up that i was planning on going with. I was even looking to put spring loaded hinges on it as well! My question are, did you try the spring hinges? Did they work well and do you remember what kind/brand they were or where you got them from? Thank for any help!
how did the lexan work with time
1/4 inch lexan door, vinyl trim pieces used to make track. No wood, no metal = no problems
this is great. If you are still around could you explain to the ignorant like me how to make that lock system. Is it working with the add a motor?
so it has worked with the d20? I was thinking of trying to do this with the d20 andca cutting board. Do you think it would work?I built the same thing with it hooked to my D20, such a simple idea but it works great, love it.
aart I know you are still around because you have helped me recently. How did this hold up, and could I use it with an add a motor d20 do you think?@KDK1
I love this simple mechanism, it has stuck in my mind since I first saw it more than a year ago.....
....now I need a 'remote' latch so am going to apply it to a new pop door...not the powered part, just the latch.
