My Ivy.. Latest Relapse...She's Gone

There aren't enough camera crews in the nation to cover all the tears that are shed when our loved girls pass.

Exactly. Heck the news crew was to afraid to come near here whilst I was newly grieving over my Thor. I would have shot them for them for fun of it! Which of course through my tears would have meant having to shoot them several times because of my aim being slightly off.

Try as I might, Annie still isn't what one would call completely comfortable with the flock. Of course, maybe if she would wear appropriate footwear around them, she wouldn't have this constant fear of having her toes pecked to pieces. I've tried to tell her to wear sneakers around them so that doesn't happen, but....you know teenagers.... Ya can lead them to water, but ya can't make them drink! And if she's too dumb to listen to sound advice......not my problem!

I just wish we had been in a position to have chickens about 10 years earlier than we did. Annie might have grown up more like Cheyenne, loving all of the little fuzzy butts.

But no use looking back on what might have been. Onward and upwards! Here's hoping we'll all be able to keep our birds till our dieing day!

Hello all.
Please help! My sarama frizzle is sick. He butt looks like it's all scanned over and she has this bubbly white foam stuff coming out of her. She strains to poop but nothing comes out. My daughter and I are so upset. She's only about 6 mos old. Is there anything I can do for her?? I washed her back end off with warm water and tried to pick off some of the scabs poor thing but it didn't make it better. Please anyone advise.

This whole conversation has touched me so deeply. Lots of tears. Our hen Pollito has been brought back from the brink of death of eyp 3 times this year and is on her 4th time right now. She is so special to us just like your chickens. She was saved from a live meat market about 3 years ago. She lost her best friend Baldy last April to water belly. It's such a stressful rollercoaster not knowing if this day is our last with her. So hard on the kids. Thank you for sharing your absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking story of hope and love. All of you ladies are such kind and great people. Such a lovely group here in this conversation. I hope you all are doing well now after all these years. Your Ivy and all her special friends continue to impact and educate others so much. Along with all the hens spoken about. Such inspirational creatures. Many special feathered angels. Hugs. Thank you all.
