4 eggs pipping, humidity down to 58, should I open bator or ???

Sorry, don't know what's more important, opening to add water or leave them alone at this point. I'm only on day 20 as of 6pm so I wasn't expecting them til at least tomorrow AM. Went to check on them and there pipping. I don't hear any peeping or see any movement. What should I do, add water or wait and see? Aaagh!

Have Mille Fleur D'Uccles, standard & bantam Cochins, Frizzles, Silkies, Turkens, a mixed variety of standard egg layers and by mid-summer, hope to have Blue & Buff Orpingtons, Seramas and Turken/Silkie crosses (Showgirls, but 1st generation, does that count?) Want Royal Palms, call ducks, Polish, Salmon Faverolles and adding to the want list daily.

What type of bator? Can't you add water through a vent on top? Do you have a drinking straw or a meat injector syringe? With those you don't have to open the bator to add water. I wouldn't open it if you don't have to.

It's a Brinsea Octagon, no vents on top, but there is a "spot" on the side to run cords through that has a little cover, I will try to go through that with a straw or maybe the turkey baster, if i can't find a straw.  Great idea, Speckled Hen and thanks for the support countrygirlelum, I will be quick! Thanks so much for the quick responses!

No problem! Didn't know which bator you had. If you can't get any water in without opening the top, just be really quick and use very warm water.

I have the same incubator and they have a fast recovery time. Just make sure it is warm water.

Well, I used tap water, not warm, but not cold either,  I was to anxious and didn't wait for the reply back so I hope this works. Humidity is already back up to 72. I can't believe I didn't check them sooner, but I know the humidity was fine at 3ish and there was no pipping then so hopefully they are fine, just wish I'd see some activity or hear something! barnie  Hope they make it out. fl Now I know what everbody goes through when it comes time to hatch. It was much easier letting my broody hen do all the work and worrying. Ok, I worried a little, but not like this!
