Anyone here have Fibromyalgia?

Gritstar,
I also used Bendetin with my first three pregnancies. It did help some, and I was disappointed that it was pulled from the market. However, it was pulled more because the pharmaceutical company was afraid of lawsuits than it was a dangerous drug.
If two women have babies that are not entirely normal/healthy, then the maker of the drug is sued. Ridiculous. Mother Nature is *not* perfect, and sometimes these things just happen.

I agree and I don't believe in lawsuits. However, my son did have quite a few problems after his birth and he did develop non-Hodgkins lymphoma at an early age.
Who's to say? I do my own research and then take it up with my doctor.

I'm sorry to hear this, Gritstar. How terrifying for you and your husband. Is your son well now? Really, it's a wonder that as many children are born healthy as there are, with all the things that can go wrong.
The reason I mentioned the lawsuits is because none of the cases were resolved against the company; however, the Bendectin was discontinued here in the U.S because of all the lawyer fees etc. spent by the company in defending itself.
I've read that women with high amounts of 'morning' sickness (what a misnomer!) are less apt to develop breast cancer in later life. I'm assuming it has something to do with hormones...

I have a close cousin to this illness, and one that is equally real and perplexing. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I've had it for 11 years. Very similar symptoms. Fatigue, pain, and crashing on exertion are part of my life. No fun, is it?!

And add to that what my OB told me when I was going thru it...women with hyperemesis gravidum almost never miscarry. It's a case of very strong pregnancy hormones. Still none of that was much consolation when I had to spend 14 weeks in the hospital; being fed by IV.

Brian, I highly recommend this article in the Feb./Mar.* issue of Mother Earth News titled: Vitamin D: Sunshine and So Much More. It made alot of sense to me.

*This is a correction of my earlier post when I said it was Jan./Feb.'s issue.
