Scared of Sevin Dust ~ help with fleas needed fast!!!

Yes and it works great for fleas and flies and bugs. Helps with worms as well. As to the concern for feeding it to chickens that many people have, people also have DE in their diets. They add it to food and what not. I hear it helps their digestive system, I also know that it works for dogs as well. Its like a miracle drug lol. I got my mother started on it and her flea problem is clearing up steadily but surely.

Borax is the Magic Bullet for indoor fleas. Wife is at work, and I do not recall the amount or length of application, just vacuum up after allotted time. We have Labs and would board them when we go on vacation, upon returning one time we walked in the back door and the fleas were literally jumping all over the place, wife used Borax, Vacuumed it up a while later and no more fleas!! We talked to our pest control man and he said that the fleas will hide under anything, then he noticed one of those clear lexan floor protectors that the desk chair rides on, we had it about 2 weeks, he said that is most likely where the fleas came from, under it. He regularly treats under it now and we have not had a flea problem in 5 years. Whoda thunk... Try Google for more information.

For indoor flea infestations, Raid Flea Killer Plus, currently in the purple can, is the best, imo. With pets removed until it dries, spray it over the entire floor, up the sides and under furniture, and even on both sides of floor-length curtains, up to a few feet. Make sure to spray the cloth underside of furniture, so that the fleas can't jump there and still live. Raid FKP kills adults, eggs, and larvae, and lasts for 3 months, if memory serves me. Do NOT use it directly on pets, and of course, follow the directions.

Even if you don't have an inside flea problem yet, treat it anyway to prevent them from getting a foothold. I'm like you and get eaten up by fleas when my brother and dad are never bitten. Good luck.

DE(for food ,not swimming pools) is safe for birds, cats, dogs, humans, and small animals. It kills only small things like fleas, mites, and ants. It has small skeleton-like bits that kill them like eating glass. It is used in burlap bags for flour etc. You can put a teaspoon or less in your dog's food and even yours. They will jump off. I just read that you can put cheap, generic baby powder on you and use it like sevin dust; but I would not recommend spreading it everywhere. I think breathing it is not safe. Comfortis or revolution is a preventative too. Give it to your dog once a month. You can order it on line without a prescription from www.canadapetcare.com or www.canadavetcare.com. OR you can get it at your vet with a prescription, but it is very expensive. I cannot understand why the DE did not work for you. I learned all about this on-line, so you can double check my info. Good luck.
