Thank-you everyone for the warm welcome.
I am very excited about getting back into chickens again.

I think my Mom and her partner are as well, since they volunteered to build the coop for me. They are both wood workers so I am sure it will be a nice well made coop. He used to raise chickens, so knows what needs to be priority in a coop.

We have been outside all morning (dh and dd) getting the yard picked up and trying to organise for putting in a garden. We are going to have to 'tighten up' as our neighbor is plowing his garden plot this morning.

The chickens are just part of our getting back to raising our 'own' food.
