chicken TV in the coop - Page 2

We tried wireless, pretty much junk since we're more then 250' away from the coop!

Went with Panasonic and ran the wire!  Fun day that was, but it was worth it.

Here's the link.  http://cluckincoop.viewnetcam.com:5000

If you click on the "single" tab you will see the coop, if you want to move the camera and hear things, click "login"

IMO I would go hard wired, and as far as the cameras I would go with Black and white infra red capabilities, I install and set cameras for a living in a local casino, as far as wire you can use lots of different cameras but using category 5 shielded cable will let you have great signal without loss of quality up to 15oo ft. or you can use rg59 copper shielded wire which is for up to 1000'. And as far as ordering you can go to northamericanvideo.com for some great prices! Just my .02 worth!!!

I tried one from Radio shack that had BAD infared. Returned that one. These are the things I would like my cameras to have thay maybe some of you may not have thought of:

infared, that works

ability to move the camera

wired or not doesnt matter as long as it works

The ability to have two way conversation so if i see something coming by I can at least feel like I am yelling at it to get away. smile

ability to view the camera from where ever I am
