I love venison-but I loove my beef. We cant really afford to buy the expensive cuts-( Filet and such) but I do use alot of ground beef and sirloin for stews and BBqing and such. Do you use venison the same as beef? I mean are there alot of different recipes for venison and not beef/ what you favorite??

chickenchick--Thunder was 8 in May according to his vet records, so he is getting up there. I was thinking of you yesterday when I was shopping. He only likes Kibbles and Bits and I only found it one place here in town. (I haven't been to Wal-Mart lately). We had to go through several bags to find what he would eat, so be sure to ask them what Mocha likes! We also (well, hubby's idea) bought him a large dog pillow to sleep on last night! I thought it would take him a while to get used to it, but as soon as he finished his pig ear, he went straight to bed! (maybe that is part of what he is missing) When Destiny came home he just stood beside it and wagged his tail as if telling her all about it. It was really cute! Hubby and I also took him to town with us while we shopped and he would bark and get excited every time we would get ready to drive somewhere! I am so excited for you! It is a long drive, but it will be worth it! I think she is still young enough to work with the potty training if needed.

Deer chili sounds so good right now with the rainy cool weather! I may have to make a trip for that alone! NY--we use a lot of beef too, and don't buy the expensive cuts either. Although ground beef is getting ridiculously priced as well. I have also been making more pork than I used to.

Michelle-I dont know if you knoe what and Aldi's is-but we just had anew one open up last year and top notch! They sell 97% fat free beef and it is expensive but if it is not bought in a day or two they go on sale and I only pay 200 instead of 5$ a package. When theta happens I ask if they have a case? sometimes they do so Ill get awesome ground beef 10lbs. for about 12$

Yes, I know of Aldi's. We used to have one by Wal-Mart about 20 miles away, but it went out of business. Now there isn't one within an hour of us. It stinks. I used to shop there all the time. We do have a "Save-A-Lot" that sometimes has deals like that. (similar store). My hubby and Colton eat ALOT, so it is a challenge to feed them cost efficiently!

Did anyone watch the new GrandDuggar being born last night? For some reason, Destiny and I love that show!

Oh! I wanted to tell you guys I went shopping last night to get stuff to make homemade bath stuff to give away at Christmas! Bath crystals, bubble bath, fragrance stones, etc. I am pretty excited to make my own stuff this year! It is a first for me! Do you think people would like a bath gift basket? I also would like to make some dry recipes in a jar and give those out as well.

Who doesn't love to get bath stuff! I think that's a great idea! Here are some links I found to some "Gifts in a Jar" ideas.

Oh..by the way.....did you happen to buy kitty blankets while you were in town???

Cool, thank you! I hadn't seen the first one yet. Now I need to find jars...

The kitties have a huge box (converted rabbit hutch) with inches and inches of straw in it right outside my front door to sleep in at the moment. They even get room service every morning and evening delivered right outside their door. (except of course precious Oliver who rules over the garage!)
