Lavender Indian Runner: New Update And New Pics!

There is a  female Indian runner duck at a park very close by my house and she is very sweet but tiny and skinny! She sometimes hangs out with two pekin drakes that are there and sometimes mallards but they all pick on her sad She eats out of my hands and she lets us know she is a girl with her loud quacks! gig  I know she is a runner because she stands straight upright (more than my runner) and runs rather than waddles. A friend of my mom's runs a duck rescue and we are trying to work with her to get the runner... she is chewed up from breeding season. I can post a pic of her (not very good it's a cell pic and doesn't show her grey feathers very well) She is off-white and has a black beak, so she isn't a white runner. I did some research and found out she is a lavender runner. Does anyone else have lavenders? Please post some pics if you do!

I dont, but I really like that coloring.

The black beaks contrast against the white feathers is awesome.
(just like a silkie!!)

Does the park have a manager or caretaker,maybe if you talked to him he would let you take her home. If not maybe ask the local police if you could "rescue" it. The bigger ducks are likely to brake her down chasing and riding her if she is left there.

Never heard of a lavendar. There are blues, I have a splash, and fawn/whites.
I *think* runners are not very common- not rare, but just not common, so finding a purple one might be a challenge!!
Enjoy her, and let us know if you are allowed to keep her

I hope I get her soon! I can't stand waiting and every time I drive by the park, I see a little white duck floating in the water, all by herself sad  I'd love to see pics of your runners, Laska big_smile Runners are my favorites.

runners are my favortie also, i have fawn and whites, whites, and mallard colored ones. i always kinda wanted all the colors, but could never get my hands on them.
you should def. try and take her home, poor thing.
