I got a 4ft black snake this weekend. Not in the coop but in a small metal garden shed behind the coop. Probably would not have been long and it would have been in the coop.

Just came in from the small barn where we have some chicken, husband yells snake in the hen house. We live in Southern Mississippi so there are a lot of cottonmouths. This is the third one he has killed for me in the chicken house area. Yes he was eating the eggs. We been wondering why the hens haven't been laying. Guess they have and the snakes are beating us to them.
This was about 3 1/2 or 4 ft long and thick. I don't care what kind of snake he is, if he is in my yard or barn and I see him, he's dead. I am very thankful that Bryan is a good shot.
