My dirty little secret!!

Yep, been there and done that to the tune of 3.5 packs a day. My body started telling me that i was killing it. You have to want to quit, to make it totally work. I quit cold turkey 6 years ago and never looked back! Good Luck....

edited because I forgot how long it had been till I looked at the calender. LOL How funny It is just normal not to smoke now. It is not that big of a deal anymore for the most part. Some things trigger the I want a cig. thing but very rarely. LOL I should have celebrated my 1 month. I just didn't notice. Not unusual for me though I forget my wedding ann. all the time LOL

Congratulations hsm5grls on your 1month! I'm totally envious of people who can quit and say its no big deal...........my hubby was that way when he quit.

You go Roooster-Red!!! Hang tuff man, it's well worth it, and although my cravings still come on occassion ( day 197 for me today ) there is no turning back...I don't want to go through the scary part again!!

You go girl!

As for those cravings, I think I mentioned, I still would wake up kicking myself thinking I'd started smoking again - only to realize it was a (bad) dream, up to literally ten years after I quit! It wasn't a craving, but those darn things just get so into your psyche it's amazingly hard to totally shake them.

All of you (including myself) who have quit should really congratulate yourselves, you've done an amazingly hard thing, such an accomplishment. Good for you (us)!

Reinbeau,

I totally get what you are saying about the dreams.....I have them and feel exactly the same way when I wake up...huge disappointment and disbeleif that I started again.........and then relief and wonderment at the discovery that it was a dream!!!

Powerful stuff indeed!!!!

(P.S. Lovin your name!)
