best brand of layer feed

I have used Tucker brand and Nutrena Brand. I like the Tucker brand best, particularly their nongmo or organic layer minipellets. Unfortunately now that I am not commuting into the city, It is a lot more inconvenient than the Nutrena brand pellets. I have used Purina and it is okay. Of course my chickens have a lot of space/ grass plus the extra goodies.

I use Purina and Nutrena Naturewise. So I like both brands.
The most important thing is fresh and dry whatever brand you buy. Check the date on the bottom of the bag. I only buy what my girls will consume within 4 months of the date on the bag. I have a 6 gallon galvanized can that holds about 25# of feed that I keep in the storage area of my coop. I completely empty and wipe it out with a paper towel before refilling. Any food left in bag stays in my house at room temperature and closed up tight with a bag clip. GC

I am ready to start my almost laying girls on layer feed & I am researching different options. I live in the greater Pacific NW Washington state.

If you're wanting a more "natural" feed Scratch & Peck is local to the Pac NW and ferments well. I would stick with it as my main feed if my girls didn't make such a mess of it dry.
