Thought I would add a little to this thread.  Have not made the crock pot butter yet, but I have made it stovetop for years. 

 

Besides adding strawberries for a different flavor, try adding blueberries or blackberries.

  This looks yummy, and I would love to try it, but I've been unable to find apple pie spice in my area and we don't have a foodlion.  Is there a way to make up the spice myself or should I just go online and try to find it?

use a combo of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves

 

try 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp each nutmeg and ginger, 1/4 tsp cloves, scale up as needed

 

 

1 DH, 2 DDs, 2 dogs, 2 cats, Future chicken outlaw.

  Sorry, it took me so long to reply to this, I got busy and only came back for little to check up.  Thank you so much for the alternate ingredients, it's a big help!  smile.png  Now I can try this out.
