mypetchicken.com? - Page 3

I placed a order for 10 chicks with mypetchicken last week and they took about 3 days to email me with  due date. So I have to wait 3 weeks which is fine gives me time to set everything up for them. This is my first order with them so will see. I usually get them from MM but didn't want to deal with 25 chicks and me going on vacation in june.

we got our chicks 4 week ago and they were ok when they got home. I am realy questioning if all our "pullets" are realy pullets though. the lady who owns the site is nice and we asked her a few questions about the chicks and she awnsered them and more.big_smile

We got our 6 girls from My Pet Chicken.

I called them on a Friday because I wanted to make sure I wasn't going on a waiting list until they had them in kind of thing.... and was told that they were hatching some that Sunday and would ship them out for me on Monday.

They came Tuesday morning in a very cute little box with a nest in it and a heat pack.

They were all very healthy and perky.

The customer service people were great.

I would definatly reccomend using them!  They are wonderful for us that only want a few.

The only draw back I saw was paying extra for the heating pack.  $20 - $25 I believe.... but for me it was worth it to only get a few!  smile

I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Just let me know!

Good Luck!

I wish I had done my pet chicken, I only need three or four and my first feed store batch of hens turned out to be roos, it took a long time to fiqure it out.
I would have been happy to pay shipping and go to the PO.
Am on my second batch of feed store chciks and have my fingers crossed, if they are roos I will call my pet chicken.
You may have occ shipping issues , or not perfect timiming, but I am not hearing about boys sent for girls!!! and I bet they would replace them! the feed store did not,( just bring them back and we will eat them. ( great deal for them , eat my well fed handrasied chicks)

I am not rich, I am Miss Frugal... ! , but I wasted a lot of time and energy on the roos, 66$ would have been cheap to get Buffs right up front, all girls.
so while the rest of you wil enjoy fresh eggs in august, I have to wait until nov dec now.....
life goes on
cheers

I wonder if the heat packs are reusable? Non recycling goods, non green goods, would put me off ordering. If reusaable then they could be on depsoit.

I ordered 12 chickies from Ideal--they are do to arrive on May 31st.  My b-day!  What a present.  I hope they all arrive safely.  How do you pick them up.  I don't want the PO to leave a slip in the mail box because then they would have to spend another nite at the PO. Do you call the PO before hand and let them know they are coming?  Who do you talk to?  Can you call the morning of and ask if they got them in?  Can you tell I've never ordered chickies before?

I called my local post office ahead of time, to let them know I would be getting chicks.  The morning the chicks came in, they called me and told me I could come pick them up.  It was so early it was still dark out when they called!  big_smile

Thanks!!  I'm gonna call the post office tomorrow to let them know I'm expecting the babies.  I guess I'll have to leave them my number.  I want them as soon as possible to keep them from stressing too much!
