My buttons are laying, but I'm collecting them until I have enough to incubate. I was wondering, how long do fertile eggs last?

They can last a long time, but after about day 10-14 they start losing their 'hatchability'. Quail eggs seem to do better if they are at least 5 days old when set though. I would keep them no longer than 2 weeks before setting them.
ETA: Just make sure to turn the eggs everyday.

I have kept them cool and dark just at room temp or lower. I never put them in the fridge. I turn them twice a day. I have hatched them out after two weeks even, though the hatch rate was lower.
