Can chickens eat almonds?

I looked but nuts weren't on the treat chart.

some eat peanuts but i don't know about almonds.. my parrot does.. but dogs can't.i would look for more info

old as dirt, without the chicken poo.. have 2 kids, 3 grandbabies, cat, dog, parrot and 28 chickens and roos. married 38 yrs

I gave mine some crushed up almonds when they were only 4 weeks old.  They loved them.  Still alive today 14 weeks later.

I think they can have almonds but not a whole lot. Almonds have a lot of salicylic(sp?) acid in them which can be toxic in really large amount. So I don't think I would feed them a pound at one time, but in small amounts I'm sure they are fine.

If you can't laugh at yourself and in turn, everyone else, when you or they do something amusing, life is far too serious. Some folks just find more things amusing than others.
