No roosters allowed in San Jose CA - HELP!

HELP!!! I live in the Cambrian area of San Jose and my beloved "hen" just crowed this morning. We are all devestated as I know I have to get rid of him. ANy ideas on where I can take him?
Also, where can I go to replace him with a couple of hens???

Some breeds of roosters are more aggressive than others.

I would definitely recommend removing spurs from agressive roosters, as well as keeping their nails and beaks trimmed. That may not entirely prevent damage, but should at least help contain it. You can also hobble them so that they cannot run or jump quite as fast or as high.
 
Hey! Have you had any luck re-homing? I had 6 straight run chicks and 3 are Roo's!! 2 Americauna and 1 BEAUTIFUL white/gray silkie!! I am SOOOO sad to see them go but my neighbors are going to kill me-- all 3 went insane this morning :(

So if anyone reading this lives from San jose to South SF I will deliver these guys to a good home! 650-919-4264


 
Our 4 month old Ameracauna started crowing this week. We too are in need of a home. Did anyone here have any luck finding homes for their roos?

What did you end up doing? I'm in Cambrian as well and have a cockrel who hasn't started crowing yet, but....
