Do bantams interbreed with normal sized chickens

Recently acquired 3 bantam(2 roos and a hen) all now mixed in with my large flock. The two boys court the big girls all the time but it never goes further than that. Maybe when they get a little older. The hen however is constant harrassed by two ee cockerals who would absolutely crush her. Luckily my top roo and his 2nd in command put a cobash to any unwarranted sexual encounters between any of the flock.

My large Lavender Ameraucana mated with my bantam d' uccle and she laid 12 fertile eggs but stopped sitting after 5 hatched. Guess she knew that they would be too much under her wings. Also it was a fall hatch so maybe she stopped due to the season change. Last batch was a full 12 hatched. Slightly smaller hens but definitely not bantams.

You need to set all the eggs at once and mark them. Then check daily for any additions, and remove them. That way, they are all ready to hatch at once.

You are probably right. I never thought about it that way. These eggs were found in the woods under a pine tree that had fallen in a storm. So who knows when they were laid. This is my first year with a rooster so I am learning a lot. He actually came to me as a mail order fertile egg when one of my hens insisted on being broody. So far 3 successful hatching in 9 months. It does hurt me though to have the chicks I give away culled when there are too many roosters. I guess I am not a farmer yet.

I've seen them interbreed!

Just makes for a smaller standard or a slightly larger bantam.
I've been looking all morning for this answer! I have 2 bantam cochin cockrels and was curious what any offspring would look like if they managed to breed one of the big girls. I was thinking about putting one of them with a couple of my gold laced wyandottes to see what I came up with!
So, if we ended up with any chicks they'd be smaller than the standards. In theory, I could breed them to the other cochin roo and end up with more bantam sized chicks?
