How old were your RIR when they layed

Well how old were they?Mine are 21 weeks old and not laying.Any tips for helping them along?Thanks:D

24 weeks and still waiting................. she started singing the other day though, so it should be soon.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

 

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

24 weeks EXACTLY and today I got her 1st egg!ya  So only 1 freeloader to go.woot

She must have heard me talking behind her back.big_smile

I have 8 and they all started at 25 weeks and all at the same time!!

14 year old son a 10 year old daughter, 10 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parakeets, 9 fish in 3 tanks.I think I might be done now.

I only ever had 1 RIR hen a couple years ago and she was about 23 weeks when she laid her 1st egg smile

Igor was 23 weeks and Scarlowey started yesterday at 25 and a half weeks.

Our chicken eggs are worth about $25 a piece.

24 weeks Is when my RIR gave me my first egg, but i'm still waiting on the the other three .

24-26 weeks, with a couple of stragglers from the Australorp group after that!  big_smile

Momma loves her babies!  8 cats, 45 inside birds, 3 guineas,  RIRs, BRs,  BOs ,  Lorpie girls, Golden Comets, OEGB  BBreds, bantam frizzle cochins,  3 white Silkies, EEs, some silkie/cochin mixes, silkie/frizzles, ducks (3 white Pekins, 1 buff Saxony & 1 Silver Appleyard), and 1 Blue Slate turkey who thinks she's a chicken...   (did I miss anyone?...)  Nope!  Now let's all have pie.
