Araconda??/

What is an Araconda chicken? I have looked on the net and cant find any info on it other than people saying look at my Araconda hen...etc....is it a mix of two different ones?

There is a posting on Craigslist for Aracondas almost laying.....

There is not a breed spelled exactly like that.  I will butcher the spelling, but here are a couple that might fit the bill.

Aracuana
Americanna
Ancona

Im wondering if they guy selling them knows anything about chickens if he is spelling wrong!!!! lol...did u see the pictures of them? THANKS!!!!

Those look like standard easter eggers.  Most folks try and call them Araucana which are actually tailless and tuffted.

Likely he's going by what the feed store or hatchery told him, which is usually wrong.  There's usually no point in trying to correct any of them.  smile

ok, after I was given the CORRECT spelling for them, I googled it...and found out that there rare in the U.S...type of leghorn...lay white eggs, are black with spotted white or gold giving it a molted look...docile...came from england...adapt to any enviorment, forage for food...

It could also be ancona, as indicated in the next post.  I've heard them referred to as anacondas before ep

Some people are ignorant of chicken breeds--may know well how to take care of a laying flock, but knowing breeds, even the ones they raise...?

its hard to see but they look like EE's to me!
