How Do You "mark" Your Baby Chicks To Tell Them Apart?

When you dye your hair with koolaid you have to use boiling water...I don't think it would be easy to convince a chick to dunk a bit of their fluff in boiling hot water...but you might be able to dip a small bit of a wing feather if long enough?

And maybe someone has experience with warm water instead of boiling, but every time we've done it the instructions we find on YouTube says boiling water...

Ive never dyed my hair with koolaid but i was told by a girl who did that she just wet her hair and left it on for a while.

Just wanted to report back that the dog grooming bands are working out great. They're easy to stretch wide over the foot and get on and off and the smallest size is perfect for new chicks. I got them in four sizes so I can swap them out as the chicks grow.

Mine are easy. Out of 11 chicks only 2 look alike and i just refer to them as the twins. There's white turken, black turken, barred turken, barnyard mix, silkie mix, sizzle roo, little brahma, new marans chick, white showgirl and the black showgirl twins.
