I wonder how much longer it will be before some one can tell me what mine are.

If you have more than one bird you have a roo.   I don't know of anyone who has been lucky enough to get all girls, even when they have ordered pullets.  LOL

I'm no longer totally new to all this and I am loving it

a little too far for me, which is a GOOD thing LOL. I'd love to keep hatching, but I'm going to hold steady a while. :) I keep hoping my neighbor who wants chickens will have me hatch a few for him.

Actually, I was very lucky. Two years ago when I did three hatchery orders they were ALL pullets. Of course then I just HAD to start hatching and well.. I seem to have a knack for hatching out boys. :P

Spent the day at the Bath auction yesterday, picked up a couple things, one of the pullets heatstroked and died before I even left tho. :( I kicked myself for not remembering to bring cages to put stuff in so they could get out of those stupid little boxes. Prices seemed good for buyers, I didn't stay very late since I had my husband bring the baby over so she could eat, lol

I was really glad to get rid of all those extra Roos, sad that some of those nice SQ Roos were going to be meat tho. I ended up holding back one Roo since my Lav split Rooster broke its neck the day before.

I even hatched out almost ALL of the shipped Chocolate Ameraucana eggs! Might be a new hatch record for me! I tossed a couple of my eggs in there and one of them hatched with a crest? I have NO clue how that happened, I don't have any crested breeds and the hens were all locked up...

Hope everyone has a happy Mother's Day, I'm going to spend mine cleaning rabbit cages, lol

Pine Creek in Lyons sells it in 80 pound bags, Its usually way cheaper than TS is. There is a mill in Cohocton too, only the name escapes me ATM
