We've been paying $12.60 a bag of Nutrena layer pellets.  I think for the Nutrena chick feed it was 14 and change.

The feed mill's mash it was 9 or 10 $.

The feed store is about 15 min from our house. Longer from the econolodge. Hopefully prices won't go up within the two weeks. fl.gif

I believe I do know your mom, tab, even though she was a year ahead of me.  Your dads name is familiar to me as well.  As you know, our town is so small that everyone knew everyone.

Big coop is pretty quiet and relaxed with the two perps locked up.  None of the usual chasing and raping going on.  We shall see how the dust settles over the next week.  Down to the final four in Survivor--Chicken Style!

If we had enough interest we could pick up a ton for cheaper.  The feed store lady told us that if we bought a ton she would sell it 50 cents a bag cheaper.  Any interested parties?  I would want to call her soon in case they need to order it and I woulld have it at our house for pick up at the event.

Hubby made for breakfast: fresh eggs over easy with fried potatoes and onions.  Yum yum. droolin.gif Had 1 more fresh egg in the litter box this morning.  Little girl had store bought scrambled. After breakfast, hubby was going to cook up some scrambled eggs for the girls.  But after cracking a couple, he said they nearly exploding and didn't smell so hot.  None of them floated during the water test, but they still weren't good.  So they got tossed in the compost pile (which is far away from the house).sickbyc.gif

Showed my mom the two fresh eggs last night.  She took each one and shook it. Not quite sure what she was looking for, to see if they were fake?  smack.gif

I need to cut down on the chickens too - rehomed six ladies today and I need to say goodbye to 1, maybe two roosters. They'll go up on CL today or tomorrow unless someone wants them. Haven't decided who will go yet tho - probably the Chantecler will be first, then it's down to my NN Gomez and my white am Q-tip (who is gorgeous and friendly but has the loudest most obnoxious crow!)..
