EE's hybrids? Perhaps I have a misunderstanding of "hybrid".
Waterers in the run? I use five gallon buckets with heaters but if they are not blocked from the wind they will freeze. Since I cover my runs they're okay. I don't keep water in the coops. I still prefer the black tubs. Much easier to just give them fresh water each day. those buckets still get green in them.
I am still working on getting things done up before the snow. I learned something the hard way. Make your run doors wide enough to fit a wheelbarrow through. Today I tossed the coop cleanings into the run so the birds can rework the shavings. Sometimes I just dig up what is in the run to put in my garden. By spring it should be fine.
Delawares? I love my Dels. They are the easiest to deal with and good layers. Though I do have to chase them out of the nest boxes when they're young. They want to hide in there at night. Of late I've been putting an empty milk jug in the boxes at night.
Lavender Amers? I had a Lavender Amer roo from PA, but traded him out for a Lavender Auraucana. He has not whiskers but he's okay. Not friendly. I do have some lavender hens but they're not pure as their mothers were EE's. I have a large black Roo from the cross. He does show some red from one of the EE hens. I just keep a mix of EE's, Amers and Aruacana for gene depth and egg color. I also have some Olive eggers.
