TSC has this stuff in a tube,
Lambert Kay EMT Gel contains the active ingredient Type 1 Hydrolysate of Collagen which provides a matrix for new cell growth.
- Seals and protects wounds
- Promotes rapid healing
- Relieves pain & itching
- Reduces scarring
- Non-toxic and non-sensitizing
I swear by it!!
Personally witnessed it heal up a super bad wound on my dog, some people like to use 'blue coat', I will for now on use 'betadine' (povidone iodine) and then that lambert kay collagen stuff.
Besides that when you capon a cockerel, they just fold the skin over, no sutures or stitches, no nothing, and it heals up.
Phoreda and Beercan,
Thank you for the help and suggestions. We were able to clean it up really well and used a couple of butterfly bandaids to close it up. He's in a crate in the mudroom now until he heals up a bit. I don't want him going out and getting it dirty and infected.
