NY chicken lover!!!! - Page 810

Queenchick---you are hilarious!  (Sorry Rancher...you left yourself open to that one.)

Aria--good luck on the hatching.  I hatched mine in an incubator.  I may let the girls hatch a couple of eggs and do some test hatching in the bator as this is my first year with them and they just started laying a couple of weeks ago.  I have blues.  They are spoiled.  Hopefully getting more soon.  I also have 4 barred rock hens and 4 golden laced wyandotte hens that are in a separate coop..They too are spoiled.  Everyone freeranges together but the two groups pretty much ignore each other unless I bring out the red folgers coffee can.  That means treats!

Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather.  Maybe my snow will melt!

Mom of 3 girls, 1 lab, 1 calico cat, 4 barred rocks, 4 wyandottes and 4 very spoiled blue silkies! Love my cheeps!

I wouldn't have another Polish roo on a bet.  Gorgeous birds, but I found the crow to be piercing.  My Sussex boys have nice, deep crows, and don't crow very often.  We've asked around, and they evidently don't bother any of the neighbors - they say they don't even notice them.

I have to take photos of the clan tomorrow.  As my roos are both large and enthusiastic, the more willing ladies are suffering feather loss, so now several of them have saddles on (Louise's Country Closet for the win!).  It looks like she changed the style slightly from the last ones I bought, as the new ones cover quite a bit more of the back and the tail, and have points that lie on either side of the tail.  The newly fancy girls look adorably goofy, and are Not Happy.  I probably won't get a single egg from any of them tomorrow out of protest.  gig.gif The roos kept scolding me from the roosts, but I told them to shut it, and informed them that, if it weren't for them, the girls wouldn't need protective covers.  They don't listen, though.

I'm always shocked how people take something typed on a forum so personally :) If I say it here I have done it. No Bull poop from me. I'm not arguing, I'm stating what I see in MY flock of 10 years.I'm NOT P.C. If that offends please just block me :)

Nope and if they did I'd have to eat them.   OMG that is obnoxious

I'm no longer totally new to all this and I am loving it

Of all the things I ever lost, I miss my mind the most.
